But then, you suddenly become aware that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain terrible. And the laughter you were experiencing morphs into a groan.

After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of confusion. You start ruminating about the nature of it all. Was this a joke?

Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

A Disaster of Epic Proportions

Awful Day Ever

It all started with a case of bedhead hair. I couldn't do it to look right. As I was dashing out the door, I stumbled and gracefully all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was totally behind schedule for a very important appointment.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to run away and hide.
